Avoriaz is a car free resort and when covered in snow, has a real Christmassy feel to it, especially with its horse drawn sleighs sliding along the main street.
Avoriaz Ski in Ski Out
Avoriaz is one of the main resorts in the Portes Du Soleil, the largest international ski area in Europe (650 Km of Piste), and has some absolutely amazing skiing. This ski area has something for EVERYONE, from complete beginners to extreme free style skiers/ boarders looking for some of the best snow parks in the world.
The ski area around Avoriaz itself has some beautiful tree-lined pistes and some amazing off piste runs through the trees. It is incredible to be in a resort with so many trees lining the pistes, especially if you want to try the home runs down to Prodain or Ardent, two small satellite resorts of Morzine. If you’re looking a for a true ski in/ski out chalet with access to a massive ski area, you can’t do much better than chalets Marie, Perce Neige, Violette or Les Lauzes in Avoriaz. These chalets range in size from 10 people in Les Lauzes to 16 people in Chalet Marie and are all located close to one another in a small area at the top of Avoriaz town.
Ski in Ski out Avoriaz Chalets
These chalets are so ski in/ski out that you could probably ski in to the chalet itself! In the morning you can pop your skis on at the door and ride through the town straight to the Avoriaz bowl where you will find a selection of chair lifts, one of which will take you to towards Switzerland. The chalets are also located right next to the ski school meeting point, so it is a great option for those who are new to skiing or still learning. At the end of the day, it is as easy to ski back to the chalet as it is to ski out. If you’re in the town and below the chalet, there are 2 separate chair lifts you can take which will take you to a point high enough for you to be able to ski down to your chalet where afternoon tea and cake will be waiting for you.

Chalet Marie is the nicest of the four chalets we have in Avoriaz.
It sleeps 14 – 16 people and has a fantastic traditional style open lounge and dining area. The chalet is very popular with clients due to its fantastic location and because it has a great atmosphere.
Chalets Perce Neige and Violette
Chalets Perce Neige and Violette are mirror images of one another. There are a very short distance from chalet Marie and also have an incredible ski in ski out location.
Each chalet sleeps 14 people and has a modern wooden finish with a open fire in the lounge area.
