Apres Ski in Morzine

Morzine's nightlife is excellent and the bars have very reasonable prices. There is a wide choice - try Dixies Bar (with live music, MTV and sport on TV), Le Crépuscule to kick off the apres ski (near the Pleney lifts), the Bowling Bar and the Caverne. Two lively clubs in Morzine are Le Paradis and L'Opera Rock.

Morzine has a vast selection of value-for-money bistros and pizzerias to top quality gourmet restaurants. Expect to pay around 30 Euros for a 3-course Savoyard speciality meal (excluding wine), 20 Euros for a set menu and around 10 Euros for pizza. Try Le Grillon, Chez Cousin Michel, Hotel les Airelles, Le Clin d'Oeil and La Chamade. Cafe Chaud is popular for fondue and The Etale is worth a visit for a pizza.

The town has a sports centre with sauna & solarium, an ice rink and indoor pool. There are also squash courts, a bowling alley and two cinemas. The shops around the town sell a good range of products and souveniers, but if it is a hard-core shopping experience that you are after, then try Geneva (1 hour by car) or Thonon (45 minutes by car) for a day out. Other activities available from town include paragliding, helicopter rides, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and walking trails (almost 100 kms of trails) skidoos and night skiing.

From a party night to a quiet apres ski drink or a quality meal, we've selected our favourite places to go (below) and have divided them into two sections: bars and restaurants. Enjoy!
